1. The following sections are hidden on a private profile: Wall, Photos, Videos, Music, Subscriptions, Communities, Stories, Gifts, Relationship Status, Contact Info, Education, Work and Personal Views.

2. Once you make your profile private, anyone who visits your page and isn’t in your friends list will only be able to see a very small amount of information, such as a your first and last name, your profile picture, the number of posts on your wall (without being able to actually see them) as well as a list of mutual friends. A user’s status message, city, age, and places of work will also be visible if the user has provided that information.

3. A notice reading “Your profile is private” will be displayed at the top of your profile. It can be clicked to make your profile public again. Your privacy settings will be switched back to the values they were before your profile was made private.

If you would like to hide your profile from a certain user and even make him unable to send you messages, you can add them to your blacklist. To do that, open their profile, click “Show more” and then click “Block”.

If you don’t want to make your profile completely private, you can still modify your privacy settings individually.
